No brush contact in signal transfer
Contactless transmission removes brush wear at that interface. Inspect support bearings, couplings, alignment and fasteners as specified.

TORQUE → SPEED → MECHANICAL POWER
Request synchronized torque and speed channels, then calculate shaft power. A matched display and coupling pair make the configuration review easier.

Illustrative calculation, not a live sensor reading.BRUSHLESS / NON-CONTACT SIGNAL TRANSFER
Inductive power and telemetry carry the torque signal across the rotating interface. The shaft rotates continuously; the connector and signal cable remain stationary.
Contactless transmission removes brush wear at that interface. Inspect support bearings, couplings, alignment and fasteners as specified.
Review rotor geometry, capacity, balance and the full shaft train. The bearingless family targets up to 18,000 RPM on selected configurations.
Request active analog or digital outputs for the PLC or DAQ. Confirm 24 V supply, bandwidth, output scaling, cable and protocol compatibility.
| Decision | Contactless telemetry | Brush / slip-ring transfer |
|---|---|---|
| Rotating signal interface | Inductive / telemetry link, no brush contact | Physical sliding contact |
| Wear review | Shaft support and mechanical assembly remain relevant | Include brush/contact inspection for that design |
| Speed & service interval | Use the model-specific specification | Use the model-specific specification |
Modern FUTEK, HBM, Magtrol and Burster models also use non-contact designs. This is a technology explanation, not a claim that those brands use brushes.
MOTOR, PUMP & GEARBOX
Minimum measurable loss, peak torque, speed ramps and inertia all affect the useful operating window.

Specify the rotational torque sensor by continuous and peak torque, maximum RPM, both shaft connections and receiver input. For a bearingless telemetry torque sensor, also provide external shaft support and antenna clearance. The approved drawing defines the installed envelope.
Speed ramps, hydraulic ripple and gearbox transients can need faster response than steady-state power readings. Define the fastest event to capture, then review sensor bandwidth, DAQ sampling, anti-alias filtering and torsional resonance together. More displayed samples do not by themselves establish usable mechanical bandwidth.
The MT-RTR configuration concept includes active conditioning in the sensor. Request ±5 V, ±10 V, 0–10 V, 4–20 mA, RS485 or CAN as an option; confirm actual availability, pinout, bandwidth and scaling on the quoted model.
Do not combine separate family maxima. Torque capacity, shaft geometry, rotor balance and speed rating are reviewed together; the approved configuration drawing defines the operating envelope.
Use P[kW] = T[Nm] × n[RPM] / 9549.2966. For 50 Nm at 6000 RPM the result is about 31.42 kW. Align measurement timing and direction; electrical efficiency also needs electrical input power.
Request a matched pair using both shaft diameters, fit, keyways and available axial space. The sensor-side bores follow its approved drawing. Coupling capacity, speed and balance must suit the complete shaft train.
It removes brush contact from the signal-transfer mechanism. Shaft-support bearings, couplings, fasteners, alignment and protective guards still need inspection. Bearingless sensors rely on external shaft support.
